For doing flash metering, the L-758 is convenient in that it has a built-in Pocket Wizard transmitter. In the Gossen line, the Starlite would be the closest equivalent to the Sekonic L-758. As I said, I use various models in both brands.įrom your original post, you indicated that you were considering the Sekonic L-358, Sekonic L-758, and the Gossen Variosix F2.īoth Sekonic meters are excellent, but the L-358 measures incident light only. Gossen meters are quite reliable, but so are the Sekonic meters. I haven't seen any real benefit, and get good exposures without any additional "custom profiles". All are EXCELLENT meters.Īs for your first question although you can "calibrate" for specific cameras with the 758, I've decided not to do that. I've used the Gossen Starlite, Sekonic L-608, and now the Sekonic L-758DR. I am told that Gossen's are known to be extremely reliable andĪccurate ? A friend has been using one for over a decade and it has Are there any benefits attached to the Sekonic DuelMaster L-758DR -ĭue to the fact that one can calibrate it to any particular digitalĬamera ? or is that not significant in real world use ?
